Intumescent Timber Coating
Client
Thurrock Council
Evolutions were instructed by Thurrock Council to undertake the installation of an intumescent coating to the exposed wooden slat ceilings of a number of properties.
The intumescent consisted of a 4 coat system undertaken to;
- All exposed wooden slat ceilings in the communal corridors
- Wooden slat ceilings to the underside of staircases
- Fire rated linear seal to the perimeter
How we Completed
Conducting the installations by scuffing, priming, two coats of intumescent and a final coat. Therefore installing the fire resistant barrier. Evolutions were self sufficient in the process of installing the required intumescent coating.
The Goal
To upgrade the existing performance of the timber slat ceiling, while also allowing it to remain in situ (not being covered up). So a clear system was used to maintain its finish.
Final Results
All ceilings were upgraded to the nessecary standard without losing its appearance.
